Surf Art & Photography Exhibition 21 July – 3 August 2025

Theme

A celebration of the culture, lifestyle, and natural beauty of surfing, blending traditional surf art with modern photography. The exhibition will explore the relationship between surfers and the ocean, highlighting diverse artistic interpretations of surf life.

 

Overview
As part of the 2025 Kirra Longboard Klassic, this event will bring together established and emerging photographers and artists to showcase their work, with proceeds supporting a charitable cause.

  1. Venue

    • Kirra Community Centre

  2. Artistic Scope:

    • Traditional Art: Paintings, sketches, and sculptures depicting waves, surfers, and beachscapes.

    • : Action shots of surfers, tranquil seascapes, underwater photography, and drone footage of epic surf breaks.

    • Mixed Media: Surfboard art, resin wave sculptures, and digital installations.

  3. Event Highlights:

    • Opening Night (21 July): Meet-the-Artists & Photographers, live music, and light refreshments.

    • Awards Presentation Night: Winners will be announced during the closing ceremony for the Kirra Longboard Klassic.

  4. Collaboration with the Kirra Longboard Klassic:
    Create a crossover event where surfers’ portraits and action shots from the competition are displayed in real-time at the exhibition.

  5. Call for Entries

  • The theme is surfing, beach life, and the striking surf lifestyle.

  • Photographers and artists will be invited to apply for inclusion in the exhibition.Divisions and Awards

  • Best Photograph

  • Best Piece of Art

  • Judged by a recognised art expert.

  • People’s Choice Award Both categories will feature a People’s Choice Award where attendees can vote for their favorite pieces. Votes will be a Gold Coin Donation each, with all proceeds donated to a designated charity.


All proceeds from the voting and commission will go to a selected charity (to be confirmed).
